The Department of Secretaryship and Management Studies is under the Faculty of Business and Management Studies. Since 1992, the department has been training students for the award of Higher National Diploma certificate in Secretaryship and Management Studies. The accountancy and Accounting Information Systems (AAIS) is one of the largest department in the University in terms of students and lecturer numbers as well as courses run in the Institution. The Department used to be called Accountancy Department in the hey-days of the Polytechnic era and the new name is in line with the trend in accountancy profession and needs at the industry, where the information technology and communication are ruling now.
